Okkola Holiday Cottages

Okkola Holiday Cottages is a family run business located on the island of Niinisaari in the idyllic Puumala archipelago. Paula, the lady of the house, along with her family and dogs, welcome you to their home to experience local Lake Saimaa life.

All 17 rental cottages have a wood-heated sauna, a rowing boat, Saimaa lakeside views and privacy.

Restaurant Niinipuu in a stone barnd on the grounds of Okkola serves traditional Finnish cuisine. Depending on the season and the day's catch the menu may feature vendace freshly caught in Lake Saimaa or chanterelles hand-picked from Niinisaari forests. Try here their specialty - plank-roasted rainbow trout from Puumala.

Another highlight is baking workshops, offering hands-on experiences in making traditional Finnish Karelian Pies and blueberry pie.
